STRUCTURE AND MECHANICS
-
The solidly constructed machine
frame is manufactured from corrosion resistant
materials (stainless stell, aluminium, heavy-duty
polymers) for enhanced longevity, reliability and
safety.
-
The specially designed spindles,
allow for the mounting of multiple wheels per
grinding head. Thereby substantially reducing down
time during product changeover.
-
The heavy-duty base frame and the
double recirculating screw system for the track
opening/closing operation, ensures a high degree of
positional accuracy and long-term reliability.

Sturdy conveyor belts,
manufactured from polyurethane with a steel core,
utilizing "closed ring" technology,
provides an enormously extended component life and
the precise, rapid and safe transport of glass
product through the machine.

The grinding heads are linked to
the motor by direct drive, eliminating the need for
transmission belts. This substantially reduces
machine noise level. The spindle speed is controlled
through an inverter allowing for the grinding speed
to be varied to suit current production.

ELECTRICAL AND
ELECTRONICS SYSTEM

The on board PLC and
data entry keyboard (both supplied by a leading
international producer) gives the operator almost
total control of all machine functions.

Processing data,
relevant to job processed, appears in real time on
the machine digital display.
-
The electrical panel
has been integrated into machine body, substantially
reducing the floor space required for the
installation and leaving the surrounding area free
of obstacles that may interfere with the passage of
personal or glass trolleys etc.

The use of inverters
and three phase asynchronous motors ensures maximum
machine reliability and minimum maintenance.

USE AND MAINTENANCE
-
The grinding whells
are located within a spacious water box and fixed to
the spindles with a single central locking bolt.
This allows for the very rapid replacement of worn
wheels.

Pressure regulators
and ammeters positioned in the vinicity of each
spindle, enables the operator to easily monitor and
maintain product quality.
-
Water is supplied to
grinding and polishing heads via a large bore piping
system. This improves grinding quality and reduces
the risk of blockage very substantially.
-
In the event of
operator setting errors, alarm messages appear on
the display screen, thereby preventing the risk of
damage to either machine or glass.
-
Polish pressure is
maintained automatically, further reducing the need
for operator intervention.
